Hello,

Welcome to this week's edition of the Wealth Writer eZine!

Three weeks ago I decided to put myself to the
test by writing a website where I intended 'Walking The Talk',
and I had two reasons for building this new website.

Firstly, I'm constantly telling people if they want to succeed
on the Internet they must have a mailing list, and must also
keep their subscribers informed regularly.

Secondly I feel there is a need for a one stop website focused
on ALL the needs of those people wanting to write their own
eZine/Newsletter - a website where people can find all the
necessary software, hints and advice, a place where they can
discuss their problems and concerns by interacting through the
online forum with myself and other members.

During the last few weeks I have spent untold hours developing
article submission software. Two days ago I finally got it to
the stage where I was able to press the broadcast button and
instantly send a personalized copy of my latest article to
hundreds of webmasters simultaneously.

The webmasters I selected to post the articles to are webmasters
who have their own eZines, and who look for articles to include
in their eZines. To test my nerves even further I included an
unsubscribe link at the bottom of every article - I thought if
they don't like my words of wisdom they can quickly click delete.

You can probably imagine my concern and anticipation
when I pressed the button. I was thinking "Have I been a bit
tempting including a remove link?" and "What if the majority
remove themselves, who will I mail my articles to then?"

I had assembled a list of 517 webmasters - I got 60 bounced
emails: 'user unknown' and 1 webmaster replied asking if he
could have me remove him from further mailings as he felt the
subject content of my articles wasn't in keeping with the theme
of his eZine about American Civil War history.

The end result is I now have a clean list of 456 webmasters,
representing many millions of subscribers to send my articles
to. Posting my articles to all of these people in future will
take me less than 15 minutes.

I have included a certified Alexa traffic ranking monitor on
every page of the eZine Marketing Owner website so everyone can
see the traffic ranking of this new site. Last week it was
329,052. This week it has climbed to 268,004.

As webmasters and potential webmasters we all have the same on
going challenge - generating quality targeted traffic to our
websites. Site promotion is one of the webmasters most time
consuming tasks. I'm sure the last thing you want is to be ill
advised and unknowingly wasting your time promoting to useless
or near useless programs.

I have listed some wonderful traffic generation programs here
where you can waste hundreds of hours of your precious time -
the end result in quality traffic for all your time and effort
will be very few visitors or more likely no visitors at all.

Join a "Guaranteed Traffic" program.
Add your site to a "Web Ring".
Banner Exchanges.
FFA (free-for-all) pages.
Submit your site to millions of classified ad sites.
Submit to 120,000 search engines and directories.
Join a Button Exchange program.
Join a massive reciprocal linking system.
Submit to the major search engines using "ranking formulas".
Join a "Top Sites" program.
Don't forget to join a Pop-Up Window Exchange.
You could try a "Start Page" Exchange.
And don't forget to join "Safelist" email services.

The major disadvantage the above services have is they can be
easily cheated, its not very hard to write scripts to reload or
refresh pages creating false page impressions where no real
person are viewing the pages at all. To comply with the
requirements of the services, ads are hidden or placed at the
bottom of pages where they would be unlikely to be seen.

If you are lucky enough to get any traffic at all it will most
likely be untargeted traffic, it's not much use having a link
from a lonely hearts web site to your site when your site is
about internet marketing.

This package is at the extreme other end of the spectrum. It
is definitely NOT for newbies. (If you're just getting
started, you'll probably want to read the sales letter
anyway. There are a lot of points in it that are important
for any online business person to understand.)

If you're already doing business online, even in a small way,
you want to take a good, hard look at this one. It has
EVERYTHING in it. Affiliate software, resale rights products,
viral systems, affiliate tools, code for more stuff than you
could shake a mouse at, and more "nuts and bolts" tools and
information than... well...

For the moderate to very experienced online entrepreneur,
this is the most powerful stuff I've seen for sale. Anywhere.

For those who don't know who Mark Joyner is, let's put it
this way: Mark's one of those success stories that most
people aspire to.

He started online with $400 and sold his company for $12 or
$16 million a few years later. Then he started another one
that's made millions. He's built some of the biggest
subscriber lists in the world, affiliate programs with over
300,000 affiliates, and some of the most heavily visited
sites (Top 100) on the net.

He's pretty controversial, which may be why we get along so
well. Love him or hate him, he's hugely successful.

Of all the services above the one I thought had the most
potential was the safe list. A safe list is a database service
where people join and agree to receive email from each other.
The mail isn't spam as they have all opted in, and in doing so,
agree to receive mail from each other.

The problem with the safelist is people join, then they set up a
throw away mail account with Hotmail or Yahoo then send all
the mail to these accounts. Some of these safe lists can have
12, 18, 24,000 members. Is anyone going to sit there and read
your mail in amongst the other 23,999? I think not!
